How long does Tormek diamond truing tool last?

I used the Tormek diamond truing tool for the first time. Now I am wondering how long the diamond bit will last. I don't see anything on the Tormek website where a replacement bit is available.

For those of you who have used it, what has been your experience on the life-span?

    Thanks
    Ken

I've been using my Tormek diamond truing tool for about three years now and it show no sign of letting up.
The bit is actually a stack of diamond chips in a binder that slowly breaks away, revealing new chips. I'm not sure how often you can turn the tip down as it wears as I have only had to do it once so far and there appears to be quite a bit of the core available yet.

Bear in mind that the truing tool is removing material that is considerably softer than its cutting edge. Like Tom, I've used mine for around three years without any signs of wear. I've now retro-fitted a diamond wheel to my machine, so don't need to use the truing tool at all with that.
