Wilton combo sander?

Has anyone had any experience with this?

It looks like it's made by the same people that make Jet products. I've heard good things about the Ryobi BD4600 but I like the fact that the Wilton's disk is 8" instead of 6". Any comments or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

While shopping with my grandson (known as kyle.w here) we saw the wilton sander at the local Menards. We were comparing these types of sanders that day. It is a nice sander but lacks some quality. Kyle and I both preferred the BD4600 over the Wilton.

No experience with the brand, but Wilton has always looked like low end stuff to me. The 8" disc did catch my eye, but I don't recall seeing paper in that size in the box stores. But, then, I never looked for it.

Thanks for the comments Monte. I was wondering what you noticed about it that made you think it lacks some quality? Just trying to get as much info as possible. It's funny, i was set on the BD4600 then I saw the wilton and it had two good reviews on amazon, now it seems i will be leaning towards the ryobi again.

looks the same as the rikon

and similar to the HF, decided against these because of the universal type motors (they HOWL) Joe

It just appeared to be a low end machine IMHO. The adjustments did not appear to be very sturdy either.

Thanks guys for your comments. Glad I checked on hear before I pulled the trigger on the Wilton. Didn't even think of the type of motor and the noise it could generate. Thanks for pointing that out joekj. I guess it's back to the BD4600 unless you guys have some other suggestions. Thanks again.
