Larry,
I wound up getting this on Amazon with free shipping and a $150 off coupon. This means I got the saw for $1750 delivered to my door. The 5HP single phase was the one on sale. Besides it sort of appeals to my "Binford 5000" mentality
Tom, I myself want either a Unisaw or a Powermatic 66 someday, and am curious why you chose the 5HP model. Everything I've ever read suggests that a 3HP induction motor should be PLENTY adequate for most woodworkers, excepting maybe those who spend full days ripping 12/4 stock virtually non-stop. Isn't the price difference between the 3HP and 5HP something like $350-400?
Also, do they offer a single-phase version of the 5HP? I was thinking those were all three-phase, but maybe not.
I've got an idea! How about mouting the Bies on the BT3000!
Just kidding. I'm envious. I'd love to have one, but I don't have enough power in the shop, plus a dang support post dead center of the shop doesn't help.
Craftsman micro torque wrench $26 off. Now $48. 9/16 to 9/18
I would consider something else.
These do not have lifetime warranty, Husky@HD,and HF ones do. I have both and the Husky is better in 1/2" drive size due to 250
