Dark side - Kirby's Miter Sled (2 pics added)

    Yeah - another one!

    Runners - UHMWPE

Base/Stops all Marine ply - in spite of the "number of veneers" differences.

Fences - Oz hardwood. 180 grit sandpaper on faces.

Offset Stops - to allow full use of fence length.

Stops for longer than 18" - (Edit) Extended Stops 30"+

    Note Travel stop

Stops switched (to the opposite fence), allow for "minimum" length use.

    Extended Stops

Looking good as always Rod! Is that "Oz wood" kangaroo or wallabee wood? [)]

Looks good, but is it accurate? Just Kidding, Just Kidding!

Rod, I think I'd put a protective cover over the Blade behind the Fence, about 88mm high X 38mm wide X 200mm long should do nicely.
I guess I'm a little sensitive since I was real dumb and stuck my finger into a spinning Blade the Friday before Father's Day this year. [8)]

            Thanks for the thought, George.

It's deliberately exposed - I actually use the inside of the fences from time to time. I'm [u]acutely</u> aware of the danger and [u]always</u> super careful.

Hey, Rod, did you get that 24-inch scale just for the sake of us metrically-challenged dummies? Or was it a family heirloom?

Wow, beautiful. I am going to make one of those. Hadn't decided on exact configuration. Well, I have now. Thanks.

You been thru an Oz Airport somewhere? I can't imagine they'd be sold anywhere else [)]

Let's see if I can get this right:

Emu, Salt water Crocodile, Kangaroo, Oz, Koala Bear, Great White Shark, Wombat [?]

And yes, shaped like a boomerang.

I always liked the name "wombat". Makes me think of wombs with lots of bats hanging from their ceilings. Or another way of describing the activities of legendary Amazons. But, seriously, is it an aboriginal word? Any literal translation?
