How is it I'm suddenly rating threads?

This is weird. I noticed a couple of one-star threads today -- maybe yesterday, too -- and it appears that I was the one that rated them. (When I look at the rating options it says, "You've already rated this thread.")

Unless I'm totally losing my mind here, I haven't rated any threads as "terrible" -- nor would I rate those particular threads as "terrible" because they seem perfectly good to me.

Is there a new hot key I'm accidentally hitting or something? I don't recall this happening before, and I don't even think I even read one of the threads I apparently rated.

    Any ideas?

If that happened to me I'd get very paranoid and change my password for sure.

Although, maybe you've stumbled upon a new man/machine interface from the sub-conscious to web sites, probably caused by too much surf time.

As I welcome the other me into this brave new holo-suite of MPD and paranoia, my other me wonders -- like the first me, and several others of me -- is there any way to remove a rating that another me has placed?

Good idea about the password. That wouldn't hurt I suppose... But I don't appear to be making random posts or replies. Weird.

Just to test it, I went ahead and rated this thread. It took me 3 clicks (Down-arrow on the 'rate this thread', then select one of the buttons, then click on the 'vote now' button). That tells me it could not be a simple mis-click.

              So two possibilities
              - you have a 'run away mouse' problem. I have seen something similar when my mouse needs cleaning or a better mouse-pad : without my intending to, the cursor wanders away and clicks on the close button of the window in front, and sometimes even clicks on the confirmation dialog box. But I'd think you'd have noticed that...?

              OR

              - You have a Mr. Hyde in you, Dr. Jekyll ! Rating all those nice threads 'terrible'??!!??

Okay, experiment over, I am unable to change my vote on this thread. I wish I had not selected 'Terrible' the first time... . <sorry>

                AH-HA!

Did you rate it as 1 star? [edit: Just saw that you did...]

I went to the thread rating and now it says that I've already rated it. (And I haven't.)

It looks like it might be a bug in vBulletin... or at least related to one. If you rated as anything other than 1 star, then I'd guess that any rating goes in as 1-star, then (due to the bug) no one else can rate it.

Can anyone else rate this thread?

I'll start a new thread to test it. Can someone rate the new thread with maybe 3 stars? And then we'll see if that rating goes in as one star and if anyone else can rate it after the initial rating is accepted...
