    Copy/paste from Word?

When I copy/paste from a Word document, regardless of font, the forum S/W puts text tags around everything - and displays them! I have to remove them all for posting.

Is there a way I can avoid having to do this?

IIRC ( I haven't used Word in years), the Paste Special command may do the trick. A dialog box should pop up letting you paste without formatting. I think there's a way to copy without formatting, but I've no idea how.

You might try a Save As Text (not RTF), then copy/paste the text version.

Realize I'm saying this without a single MS program on my laptop, so I probably have no idea what I'm talking about...

This is just a guess but you could try changing the settings in the forum from WYSIWYG to plain text
      click:
      user CP > Edit Options
scroll to the bottom and look under
      Miscellaneous Options:
      Message Editor Interface

I've never had that particular problem. If I want to go from Word to either forum or Email, I usually have the text "saved as". Then to do the CP, I just open it up, highlight it, then click "copy".

Then where ever I want to paste it, do it there.

There are some programs that don't like the formatting codes within a Word document - including many web editors - especially in Windows.

I copy the required Word text, open Notepad, click and press <Ctrl>+v (that dumps the copied Word text into Notepad), then <Ctrl>+a (selecting all the Notepad text), then finally click in the web editor and press <Ctrl>+v.

This dumps the Word text into the web editor having stripped out all the spurious formatting code and it takes just an extra second or two.

I rarely type messages that are very long but when I do, I find it easiest to just use Notepad.
