    Rep power

I've been wondering for some time what "Rep power" is. I've been designated as "Rep power 1" for some time, but when I had enough posts to become an old man, I'm suddenly up to "Rep power 2". Does that mean I get to buy another tool or something? Is LOML automatically contacted about the purchase she is about to make for me? If not, exactly what does it mean?

When you get to 5, you'll get your super secret decoder ring in the mail .... until then, you'll just have to keep guessing

(seriously tho', it really doesn't mean anything, it's a Vbulletin feature that we don't have setup for anything)
If it ain't broke.. don't fix it!!!... but you can always 'hop it up'

Thanks for the quick reply, even though it was a little disappointing. I had my heart set on some special high grade tools, but even a secret decoder ring would have worked.

I guess the awards program has changed. When I got to 5, I got a $3 shopping spree at Harbor Freight.

Aw, man, you got shafted! With my $3 credit I was able to get six bar clamps, a set of Forstner bits, an 18-function multi-meter, an X-Y machinist's vise, a big bag of foam paint brushes, some quick-disconnect fittings for my air compressor, and a 5000pc assortment of flat washers. (I had them put the remaining 62 cents on a gift card.)

Larry I'm surprised at you, I expected you to at least buy the stuff when it's on sale.

Yeah, I know. I plead "heat of the moment" or maybe "kid in a candy store." I mean, really, think about it: how would YOU act if you were turned loose in a Harbor Freight store with a whole $3 to spend?

Wow! HF sells secret decoder rings for $3 if you have a rep 5 rating and a 20% BT3 coupon?

I been learning speed reading. I'm good at it, but the recognition part is still down to about 7 words a minute when HF is used in the sentence.

seriously I think it relates to the amount of positive feedback you have received via the "add to reputation" icon.
