I can't seem to figure the display options. The only one that works for me is 'Last post". this puts them in order based on the last post received.

I don't understand the difference between display option 'thread' and 'thread starter'.

All I want is them to be in order based on when the thead started. When I do 'thread starter' and 'ascending' for instance, then I look at each thread and look at the first post date in each, the dates are not in order, they are random. So I can't figure it out.

Oh I think I get it. Thread goes by alphabetical order by the title of the thread. Thread starter goes by alphabetical order of the person who wrote the first thread.

I know these are standard forum tools, but they seem like goofy ways to view threads.

I think the best way would be to put them in date/time order - either by the last post - which is the default, or by the starting of the thread - which is not an available option, as far as I can see.
