With Firefox 1.5, the page load progress bar shows almost complete, the status message remains "Transferring data from www.bt3central.com", but the pages seem to be complete. I tried with Internet Exploder, pages seem to load fine. Is it just me?

Caution: technical answer, avert your eyes
vBulletin 3.5 uses what's called AJAX (advanced Javascript and XML) for some of its features. To try to simplify it, it is a slick way to get more data from the web server to the browser without doing a page load. It's gaining a lot of popularity in making web apps more interactive.
So, even after you see what is a complete page load, the various AJAX javascripts on some pages go and fetch more data from the server. This makes FF dutifully report that the page is loading. Other browsers will vary in how the indicate to the user that a data fetch is occurring.
Your choice (in your profile) of post editors will affect whether or not AJAX scripts get invoked also, so it's also normal that some members see it while others do not.
To summarize: nothing out of the ordinary, it's advanced interface features in vBulletin that are the cause.--Rob

As mysteriously as it appeared, the strange behavior of pages not quite finishing loading has vanished. I forgot to mention that this didn't start until some weeks after the switch from Snitz to vBulletin.JerryComment
