    short link/alias

How do I include a link in a message so that the actual link is "hidden" by an alias?

For example, If I want to include a link like [u]Rockler Jig</u> so that when the user clicks on it he/she is taken to the page at [u]http:\huge_rockler_url347364075605649890-0837987-54798769</u>

I know about the html &lt;a href&gt;&lt;/a&gt; tags, but it doesn't work when I try it (the tags show in the message).

I see when I post a message that "HTML is OFF," does this need to be "on?" If so, how do I turn it on?

short version is like this .... (replace {} with [])

    {url="http://www.bt3central.com"}bt3central{/url}

which yields this when the {} are replaced with []

    bt3central

then there's the longer but easier to remember way of doing it ...

1.) click on reply to topic (or new topic)
2.) drop down the format mode box and change it to "prompt"
3.) click on the little globey insert hyperlink dohickey
(right above the size drop down box)
4.) enter the text you want to use as a name for the link
    5.) enter the link itself
    6.) grab a beer
    7.) pop the top
8.) celebrate the fact that you learned something new today [8D]

Hey it works! Thanks much Thom!

I know I tried using that "globey" button before, but maybe didn't get the quotes or brackets in quite the right spot.
