Cannot see pics

I am using Netscape 7.1. When looking at a post that is supposed to have a pic, all I get is the description of the pic plus the Microsoft icon that looks like a page with the upper right corner folded. When I tried IE I got the same pic info plus a rectangle with a red X. What do I need to do to see the pics?

Don't know if this will help or not...or maybe something I missed....but....
I found out that I need to be logged into the forum to see pics.
I have IE V. 6 . Once I see them, then I can come back and see the same ones without being logged in.

Same for me except that I saw red x's while not logged in, logged in and then I could see the pics. Logged out and again saw the red x's.

I tried what James and Steve suggested, logging on. While I am logged on the pics show up. After logging out the pics are gone. Thanks all for your help.
