Posting Images - Getting Painful

Why don't image sites want us to post images from their free data space to forums?

I started with ImageStation then went to another (I forget the name) then I went to hpphoto. Now HP says their going to change their policy and disallow images to posted on forums also.

What's up? Why do they all keep doing this?

I have an AOL account. Is there a way to link to my images there?

Any account that provides web space can usually store images to which you can link. You'll need to find out if you have any web space available, then how to upload the image files - directory name, ftp address, etc.). If you need any help translating the results of your findings, drop me an e-mail (but remember the time difference may put a delay into the reply).

Pretty simple, really. They give away this service for free, so that you can come to their site and either a) buy reprints from them, or b) read ads on their site.

When you link directly to pictures, you're using their resources, but nobody will see the ads or buy their services.

I just set up a photobucket account specifically for being able to post pictures. I like webshots for storage in albums, but you can't hot link with them. I am pulling the plug on my imagestation albums.
