I know there is a way (seen it here before somewhere) that you can have an alternate text label appear instead of a URL in a post. But, cannot for the life of me remember how...

Use the form: <a href=" "target="_new"></a>
insert the link url between the " " marks and type in the Name of the link between the >< signs.

instead of < put [ and of course > with ]

a really simple way to do the same thing is to change the "Format Mode" dropdown from "Basic" to "Prompt", then when you click on the url button, the forum software will pop up windows asking you for the name of the link as well as the information for the link itself.

And yet a lazy man's way of "remembering" is to find a post with the short url/text and click on the "reply" icon. Inside the reply with the quote will be the original URL and text. In this case, I did this with Erics post and under his "Text for link", I put a few spaces in the second line to prevent it from acting, but it does let you see the procedure when you forget.quote:Originally posted by eric1973

Text for link
[ url ="http://www.anetechnologies.com" ] Text for link [ /url]
Just do not POST that specific reply, but use it as a last resort to view the procedure only. If this is a no/no, Sam, just delete this post quickly! [:I]Hank Lee
