    site not found?

For the last couple of weeks, everytime I try and access the site from home, I get a message saying it can't be found. I can see it from work, but I really should be working

Any thoughts as to what to try?

Do you have it bookmarked and are trying to access it from the bookmark? Try just typing www.bt3central.com into your browser's address bar.

      Brian,
Are you running any type of fire wall or internet security software? I have to disable mine at home to get into the site. I can access it, but get that same message if I try to log in.

I do have the site bookmarked, but have also tried typing it in, to no avail. I run ZoneAlarm as my firewall, but I've been running it for quite a while, and never had trouble getting to the site before. I'll try turning it off tonight and see.

Though I'm no expert, it had occurred to me that it could be some kind of messed up routing entry in my ISP's server, preventing the name from being resolved. If you have a static IP address that I could try, maybe that would work?

        I'm suffering withdrawl here!

          Brian,

Before you turn off the firewall, check to see how it's configured. There are usually "trusted" sites or applications it recognizes. Perhaps something has inadvertently been changed there? Also, sorry to mention it, but often access difficulties are as a result of a viral problem. [:0] Might be worth a check also. Anything's better than having to switch off a firewall nowadays!

          Ray.

Thanks Ray, I'll check the firewall. Haven't messed with it, but we all know how computers have a mind of their own. I'll make sure the anti-virus is up to date and do a thorough scan, hopefully that's not it! This is the only site I'm having trouble with (and it's one of my favorites).

BTW, the IP of the server is 216.65.30.82.

Thanks, Sam, I'll try that. I just found that I can get to the site through Internet Explorer, but not Mozilla, which is what I normally use (and have used to access the site for many months). Maybe something locally got corrupted?

Just popped over to Mozilla, and using the ip address worked just fine. Guess I'll just tweak my bookmark...

                Thanks again!

I am using Mozilla on my iMac with the site bookmarked and have no problem. The same is true if I use IE.
