how to add jpeg's & bitmap's?

Hi,
Is there a FAQ on adding Jpegs' & Bitmaps' to posts? I tried using the "insert image" and got the [img] [/img] message but was not sucessful in pasting the bitmap.

Also check with your ISP. Many of them offer varying amounts of free space to customers for use as home pages; if so, you can upload your photos there; it may be more convenient than using one of the commercial hosting services.
