    Images In Signatures -- How???

    This must've come up before, but all search variations I've tried have turned up zilch.

    I have a small JPG in my Member's Files area that I'd like to include in my signature line. I've tried all manner of ways to do it, and can't figure it out. The closest I can get is the famous empty box containing a red X.

    If possible, I'd like to make the image a link, so that clicking it opens another web site in another window.

    Any and all help will be most gratefully, etc etc etc.

    It should work the same way as inserting an image into a post. Problem that I'm having is figuring out how to link to an image that you've loaded to bt3central. There are scripts that are hiding the actual location of the images on the server.

    If you had the image that you wanted to display off of the site you would be able to link to it like you would in a normal forum post.

    {img}http://www.someserver.com/images/something.jpg{/img}

    With the software that Sam has, information about the image is passed through the querystring and then the script generates the thumbnail or forces you to download the image therefor hiding the location of the actual file.

    At least that's how it appears to me.

      Yep you can use any of the forum code in your siganture

      Here is my signature with all the [ replaced by { and all ] replaced by }

      A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.{/blue}{/size=1}

      So you can see that you can use forum code for any function.

      What you can do to make the process easier is use the post editor for the forum to make you signature. Just open it like you were going to make a new post or reply build your signature then copy the code from the editor to your signature.
