It FELT LIKE "20 Years Ago Today ..."

Actually it was only 1 YEAR and 2 Days ago today that I got the permit from the city to actually begin construction ... I've just about convinced myself that other than the occasional additions we all make to our 2nd home (shop/cave) this effort is complete to my satisfaction ... the dust collection still needs to be complete but it hasn't precluded actual productivity and projects have in fact been completed ...

For those few of you that care this link should take you to the online web album where the 200+ pictures including those of this final collage of the inside reside ...

    The Workshop Rises

    Thanks for looking in ...

Ah ... what you see in THAT pic is the 4" DC hose running across the floor because I haven't finished the dust collection piping... at least I think that is what you are referring to ... IF you are looking at some of the other pics and see the smaller conduit on the other side of the TS ... that is a PVC shield over the 10 gauge wire running to the outlets I have under the extension table for the saw and other things I might need to power... it's ABOVE the floor rather than buried in the concrete for a couple of reasons ... #1 I wasn't SURE where the TS would end up ... and #2 I wasn't sure when I would ever actually be able to afford putting enough power in the shop to use a 220V tool ... the budget at the time of pouring the slab was seriously busted ... It wasn't as much poor planning as it was accepting the realities of cost.

well, i'm still jealous of all that space. i've got probably as many (or possibly more) tools packed into a 240 sq' shop (25 mins. north of NYC). i'd probably get lost in a shop that roomy and comfortable. after all, isn't woodworking supposed to involve endlessly moving things from horizontal surface to horizontal surface and constantly rolling one tool into position, putting it back, rolling out another tool, putting it back, etc., etc.?

That's really awesome Bade :-) The fact that you got that all done in a one year makes me tired just thinking of it. Well done, sir!
