    Sink In The Shop

Many garages or shop areas don't have a sink of any sort. Some have a laundry area and a utility sink. How is your work area set up...sink or no sink?

I have a utility sink set up. I love it. Keeps the inside sinks cleaner.

No,but I was in my HD yesterday and saw some plastic sinks in the clearance section of my store, still pricey($40) but figured its not a big seller so I'll wait to see if the price drops some more as I would like to have one eventually as for now I run outside to use the hose on the side of the house and lots of coffee cans

My little shop is currently in the basement and there is a laundry room adjacent to that, where it comes in handy.

So much so, that I'm trying to come up with "plumbing" when ever I get to move the shop to my detached garage. That plan however seems to be forever "backing away".

However, at this point the basic little add-on to the side of the garage has now grown to something a bit more extreme, in that with "plumbing" cost, the shop alone can't justify it... so now I'm planning a second floor where a "guest apartment" seems to be a very attractive goal. But one of such expense, that I think I'm going to have to do all the framing myself.

We have a 'mud room/half bath' right next door. One hose hookup is all I need and want. We do have two floor drains but those are primarily for the snow melt that drips off the vehicles.

          Regards, Steve

Detached, unheated garage/shop in Northern Indiana. If i added a sink i could use it 8 months of the year and blow the lines out, or heat the building. Heating the building would be great even without a sink.

I don't see a sink in my future, but the hose is not that far away!!

I have a hose in the shop but I would like to have a sink if it did not take up space.

I had one, but when I remodeled, I needed the space for a partition and ended up moving it inside where it mostly sees duty for laundry. I do wish I had it back, but make do with hose that is right outside side door.

I have a sink and use it allot, I also have a 3/4 bath room. I take my showers in the shop and leave all the sawdust where it was made.

No sink in my shed. I do have a planters peanut jar filled with water for rinsing out my glue brushes though. The hose bib is on the other side of the yard, not too far away.

Would a major addition be a bucket? BTW...what kind of peanuts?

No room for that kind of a spacious addition, besides the jar has a lid that shuts tight. It doesn't spill when I knock it over. I've put my foot into a bucket of sawdust before, that didn't end well.

LOML has been itching for an outdoor type sink for when she does gardening. She keeps mentioning an outdoor kitchen too. She sees the DIY shows on TV where a renovation included a complete cooking area, some even with pizza ovens. She knows a good cabinetmaker that offers a lifetime warranty.

+1 here, too. Use the garden hose and a small bucket for glue clean ups but use the kitchen sink to clean brushes.

When I built the garage/shop, I added a cheap plastic laundry sink and
a 2-gallon electric hot water heater with a french drain out the back.
                              Glad I did.
