Has anybody seen these in a while? I bought some years ago at Sears Hardware and now it seems they don't make them any more. The fixture was about 3ft long with a 150 watt halogen bulb at each end. Great for the garage, or shop. IF you have seen any lately please let me know I would like to get a few more.

My guess - halogen lights have fallen out of favor, with high intensity LED lights and xenon technology, I think you can get lots of light without lots of heat.
In a shop with sawdust, not sure I'd recommend high heat halogen lights.Comment

I used to have two 3 footers each with two 300W bulbs. Great in the winter, finally changed them for standard four tube fluorescent hanging fixture, waay too hot in summer, but you couldn't beat the light.

+1 I used to have a couple of those in my basement shop. The ceilings are fairly low so standing under them was like standing under a sun lamp. I replaced them with florescient fixtures using T8 Daylight tubes._________________________

For reference, 4 32w T8 bulbs have the same light output (12,000 lumen), longer life, better light distribution, and only consume about 130W. Halogen does have nice color rendering though.Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. - Thomas EdisonComment

T8's are also available in 28 and 25 watt versions from Philips. They produce roughly the same light output, last longer and of course cost more but the payback is there.Rick
