In the course of plumbin' for the DC, I tried to tidy up a bit. I don't know that my shop has ever been this clean and figured while it's not perfect, it's a good opportunity to share some photos.

I can answer that one, Reva puts food in there. Thom has to walk ALL THE WAY through the door on the left for about 3' to get a beer.
I have another question though....... Now that the shop is all clean and set up and everything.......What ya gonna build next??? Looks pretty good though. Pat

Notice a lot of similarities to my own, starting with the air cleaner, great big honkin' compressor, HF sander, Craftsman digital RAS, and huge Craftsman tool box... Good stuff. (But I wouldn't have thought to put a freezer and W/D in mine... )

How is your dust setup working out for you? I have a DC but haven't made the
jump from flex hose to fixed pipe.

Thom2, Can you tell me what type of clamps you have in the rack in picture #13? I am assuming they are corner clamps but can't really tell for sure.

Too early to tell, I haven't had a chance to put it through the paces yet. The little bit of a chance that I have had to use it says it's going to be WONDERFUL tho'.

Thom: Looking at your pictures again, I noticed something ... I think ... do you have your spring clamps clipped to the top rail of the overhead door? If my eyes aren't deceiving me, that's a pretty clever, non-obvious use of an obvious asset, if you get my meaning.

Paul: I can speak to your question about hard pipe a little bit. I plumbed my new shop space with 4" S&D, using the popular 2HP HF DC as the engine, and it is exactly as Thom says: WONDERFUL. I recently bought a drum sander and its manual cautions that it needs a pretty stout dust collector hooked to it. I was unsure whether the HF unit would have enough beans, but I'm pleased to report that the dust collection at the sander is virtually 100%. Ditto for my jointer and planer (both of which, admittedly, did well even with my old hose-based system ... but now it's darn near perfect). The usual problem tools -- miter saw, top of table saw -- are still problems; but those aside, it was WELL worth the money and time required to put in the hard pipe.
