    Power Outlets And Extension Cords

    I have a habit of leaving tools plugged in to either the wall or an extension cord when they should be unplugged. To help me know whats on and not, I use one of those circuit breaker/surge cords with multiple outlets. I try not to use tools on extension cords unless I have to and for most of my 110/115/120V tools like drills, routers, etc, I use a 12 gauge extension cord, that is plugged into the multiple plug adapter. The reason being, the adapter has lights that indicate whether it is on or off. For me to be able to look at it and know it's off helps for times like battery charging. Even though my battery chargers have lights, I would forget about them. I also like the idea of an additional circuit breaker, and surge protection.

    To do any servicing of a tool like changing router bits, the tool gets unplugged. The power outlet looks similar to this:
