    Trash Can Cyclone

OK...got my drum and I'm using 4" in and outs. The "out" should be in the center of the can going to the dust collector, and the "in" is comming in on the side of the lid with a sweeping elbow to create the cyclone. My question is how far in should the tubes penetrate the lid. I would think the "out" should be short so your not sucking dust out of the drum, and that the "in" should poke down insdie the can some ammount of distance before it starts to turn so that there is distance between the two ports. I just don't know how much, or if I'm totally off on this.

Also this is getting hooked up to the 1.5 HP delta. If that helps any.
