Short answer - now, rarely. I've given away a whole buch of coffee tables etc, over the years and I've never posted stuff like painted sets of drawers, painted coffee tables, painted quilt stands (do you see a pattern here?).

Here are the last items: Two carry cases for Teleconference equipment, and Carole's Quilt cabinet (built only after I insisted that I still be able to see the woodgrain).

I don't believe those are yours Rod, where is the MDF??!! Didn't think you could build something without it!!

They do like great, and I can see why you demanded to see the grain.

Paint has it's place and purpose, yes, even on wood sometimes (OK very little). Why cover up something that is already beautiful, the natural grain in wood.

Have you got a thread going on just your custom jigs? Would love to see it if you have or even haven't got one yet.

Short answer - no

Many of my "custom" jigs are based on "others" - credit always given at the time. In many cases I just add my tweaks.

In spite of how it may appear, I only build jigs "as I need them", so a search on my profile should pick them up - let me know if any pics are missing...

Saw an article last night with a jig for dovetails on the table saw using plywood. First thing I thought of for some reason, is: "Wonder if Rod would do this in MDF?" and popped on here, searched every thread you've posted recently with pics of your shop. Didn't see but one jig (cross-cut/45 sled). So thats why I asked. Thanks

Nahh on the link, but when I get home, I'll find the article specifically and post info... I think it was Popular Woodworking. For some reason, Thiel comes to mind, but I could be crossing articles.

Well - that's very interesting!

One of the reasons I "don't do dovetails" is that I can't be bothered with all the setup needed - even with a (router) dovetail jig. In other words I'm too impatient

I don't see any reason why that couldn't be made using MDF - but I won't be
