    jointer blades

I have a delta 6" jointer and want a second set of blades or better set. Where do I look? Do the delta ones hold a good edge?

I saw them at lowes for 59.00 for delta ones... 3-6" one edged blades

    thanks...

I bought Freud replacement blades for my 6" Jet from Amazon -- haven't installed them yet, but have heard good things. One of the good things is that they're ~$20 - $25.

Search Amazon with the phrase "freud 6" jointer knives", and find your exact size.

    Regards,
    Tom

I tried finding them for my JET 6" a while back and every site or catalog I checked was out of stock. There was some kind of shortage. I ended up buying a set from Sears for their 6 1/2" jointer and they worked. Costed around $25. I would go for FREUD if they are available, but the Sears have been working fine.

I have a Delta JT360 jointer too. Does anybody know what type of Freud 6" replacement blades will work on this jointer? I haven't changed blades yet, so I did not have chance to measure it, but I think sooner or later I will have to replace the blades. Thanks!

Hartville Tool and Grizzly should both carry replacement blades that will fit your jointer.

delta really hides the size so you will just give up and get theirs. 59.00 at lowes

              they are 1/8" x 5/8" x 6"

Sweet! It's hard to imagine getting a set sharpened for that price!

I am not totally sure, but I have never seen a 6" jointer that does not take the 1/8 x 5/8 x 6". Same scenario with 8" jointers. Pretty much universal on size blades from one manufacturer to another.

If anyone knows of a 6" or 8" that requires a blade other than standard, please correct me as I would like to be able to be completely correct when I state that "all" are universal size..

Freud.. Sunhill.. etc. etc.. are sources I have used to this point..

                    Regards...

                          Sharpened

I just got my Grizzly 6 inch sharpened at Camel Saw Co in Canton. It was $8 for the three set and they did a great job.. Looked like new. Turn around time was 4 days.
                          Cut twice.... measure??

Infinity makes very nice replacement blades.

As far as standard sizing it seems most are 1/8 x 5/8 x 6 but they make all the other 6" sizes for a reason . . . .
