    And then there was heat...

After freezing my butt off for 2 years, I broke down and bought a heater for the shop. Tractor Supply had the stove marked down about $300 and 15% off accessories.. just too tempting.

    http://www.pelletking.com/Breckwell-...g-Furnace.aspx

Spent saturday afternoon finding a place to put the stove, cutting the hole in the wall and installing the piping. Fired the stove up yesterday and stank the shop out. The smell of the paint curing and the oils burning off is nasty.

It would have been cheaper to buy a wood stove, but the quantity of insulated piping would have made it almost as expensive as the pellet stove. Plus the pellet stove autoignites and I already have pellets for the stove in the house. Now I need to finish insulating the ceiling and i will be in good shape.

Comfort in the shop is a big plus. Congratulations on the new workhorse.

Yuppers it is, was working on things in a tshirt and sweating.. things are good. Either I need to install a thermostat or mess with the settings more often. They make a remote control thermostat/controller for the stove.. but I am not paying $190 for it

cool, i use to deliver those pellet bags in the winter time.coal too...
i finally got my woodstove installed that i've had a year or two now.
its used but my shop is also full of nasty smelling fumes maybe from the adhesive in the metallic tape i used around the pipe joints or from the black coating the guy sprayed over it.
lit the first fire in it christmas night and had to jsut sit out there with the lights out and the fire roaring for a lil while lol..was pretty nice feeling

then i went to lowes for soemthing and saw the Gorgeous woodstoves they had there. one small one was oging for $380 i think it was, perfect boxy size for my shop, and has a glass front! tempted to sell mine and get this one haha.

i do think i need to replace the gasket around the doors.i cant get it sealed air-tight(well,not even close i mean)
kinda important for that "slow burn" wood-cracking type heating.
