    Inter-locking Floor Mats.. Where ??

I have the majority of my shop floor done with 2' x 2" inter-locking spongy mats I purchased at the Orange Box. I need another pack or two to fill in a few areas that were covered by another type of mat I'm removing.

Called HD and they said they are seasonal. Suggested Sam's Club...

Anybody know if they are currently being carried by anyone as I am not a member of Sam's Club?

    Regards...

          2x2 Mats at Pep Boy's

I recently picked up a set to put int the craft show booth -- I got tired of my turnings getting bounced off the concrete...

Thanks for the tips on Walmart guys.. I have a Super W about a mile away. I don't know what they have as I try to avoid malls, super stores, etc. to the best of my ability. Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and get in line with everyone else attending the circus. ha.. ha...

            Again.. utmost gratitude...

I found some at an auto supply store (Schuck's). Seems like they were pretty reasonable there, too.

Lowes has them and as far as I know stocks them all year round.

I bought a bunch of them, but I can't remember or find the SKU#. One caution on these is that they have an odd interlock pattern in the middle that doesn't match the typical dovetail interlock.

Another caution. . . .static! I fitted my whole shop floor with these, and the static build-up and discharge when I touch any tool (even the BT!) is beyond annoying. I need to figure out a way to eliminate that problem. Perhaps washing them and spraying them with static guard may work. . . dunno.

Thanks again guys! I went to Walmart to-nite on the way home. Good news for my allergy to super stores is everyone was out trick-r-treating as the store was almost empty. Bad news is they didn't have any.

I'll try Lowe's and Pep Boys tomorrow. I can go to both places without having to grit my teeth even once. ha.. ha...

                        Regards... jt

I'm partitioning my garage to use part of it for a workshop. I was thinking of using a glueless laminate over the concrete floor but rubber is an easy on the foot alternative and easier to install. Do you have any mobile bases on your tools and how do they work on the rubber mats? I saw some in Sears today - 6 for $20.

I stopped by Big Lots today (Jax, FL) and they had 2'X2' interlocking Black work mats for $12 a six pack. They are made in China so I don't have high expectations as to the quality but I bought 30 packs to do my garage.

I three types of mobile bases on various tools. The Herc-U-Lift on the BT works just fine when I roll it over the mat. I let the BT rest on cement when I'm using it.

I have my Grizz G0555 bandsaw on a Port-A-Mate, which is much like the HTC2000 mobile base. It also sits on cement when in use, but I can roll it up and over the mat if I need to move it. It takes a little more effort to move, because it sinks into the mat, and the clearance between the bottom of the mobile base and the mat is low.

Use swivel casters on my mobile planer cart, and I have no problems rolling it around the mat.
