One for us oldies…
Do you sometimes find it hard to get up from a crouch? I sure do. The old knees ain’t what they used to be!
For example, I need to get under both my Router tables to raise/lower the routers and to lock them once positioned – I prefer to do it this way rather than use a “raizer”.
Height (important) 14” – for me this is about 3” below my knee, seat 17-3/4” x 15” (360mm, 450mm x 380mm).
Base is Clear pine, seat is ¾” MDF. ¼” chamfer all over both.
Base is (woodhaven) biscuit joined, Titebond II glued – no hardware, rubber feet. 3 coats of Clear Poly finish. Not pretty, but it sure does ease the pain.

Edit: Version 2 on the right. Same dimensions, slightly smaller top and only 1/2" instead of 3/4" MDF. Base only about half the size of clear pine. MUCH lighter and plenty strong enough.
I discovered the the first version was way over-engineered! And too heavy. I'm sure a 500lb Gorilla could stand on it.
(BTW If I'd known I could get a "mobile mechanics seat" I could have saved a HEAP of money! But then I wouldn't have had so much fun - and - I think this looks better )
