I finally finished my shop upgrade. My sanctuary is housed in a one car garage which is adjacent to our two car garage but seperated by a wall. When I originally designed this I layed it out to utilize the space as best I could without having to move things around. The layout is working quite nicely and I thought I might share some pictures. The most recent addition is the Unisaw. I added the second outfeed table which is hinged to the extension table. Mounted underneath is my thickness planer which can be flipped up onto the extension table when in use. I also upgraded the DC with the Creative Dust Control system. When it works it is great but I have had many difficulties with the automatic blast gates. Three out of five are not working or working intermittently.

So neat, so clean and so well laid out. Like Jim said, mess it up so we know you work in it!Larry R. Rogers

Excellent layout on your DC ports, Tom.
I'll probably use a modified version in my own Shop. As near as I can figure, I'll need about 12 ports, split into two runs (one down each side of the Shop).
Do you have a Floor Sweep in your setup?Stop thinking why you can't and Start thinking how you CAN!
Remember, SUCCESS comes in CANS!

The Hitachi Drill press is great for the money. It is really nice with the table and T track. I don't have it anchored to the floor. So far this has not been a problem but I haven't worked on anything sizable that might cause a stability problem.
As far as the DC hose is concerned I managed to fit the flex hose into the coupling of the S&D pipe. It is a very tight fit which requires some coersion but once it is in it doesn't want to come loose. I also clamped the hoses to either the equipment port or the blast gates where appropriate. The S&D pipe works very well and is the most cost effective solution that I could find.Comment
