Gack! Rockler DC hoses/fittings + Ridgid vac

all my hoses and fittings came in today; unfortunately none of them, including the "shop vac adapter" will fit on my vac, fittings on vac are just a skosh too big. Vac is a Ridgid 2 hp, 6 gallon model, hoses and fittings are 2.5 inch.

Does anyone know where I can get an adapter to make this work or what brand vac I can buy that will fit?

I found a $20 Rigid kit at the BORG. It has a length of hose and a few connectors. You might be able to use one of the connectors to terminate your Rockler hose - maybe.

Rockler or Woodcraft should have the adapter that you seek.

I'm not sure where you are exactly in Florida, but you might want to give Woodcraft a try. Looks like they got 4 stores in Florida.

Here's a link to the DC stuff they have on-line.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was painting my porch all weekend so haven't had time to do much on this yet.

The fittings ALMOST fit, it seems most of the problem is 4 little raised areas inside the adapter. I'm thinking dremel tool at this point, just need to make sure I don't make something not fit by making something fit....

Anyone know what the hose size difference is between Shop Vac units and Ridgid? My Ridgid is pretty old too....
