    DIY tool stands?

I have searched the web and this forum for some plans to make a good tool stand. I know I could just build a 2x4 frame one but I thought that there would be some more creative ideas out there. I currently have a spindle sander, robi bench table saw, benchtop drill press, belt/disc sanding station, and a scroll saw. More is to come and I need some stands. Can anyone point me in the right direction or am I better to go and buy the harbor freight tool stand of doom?

the "best ever workshops 2005" from Wood mag had several different tool stand plans in it. it would be worth checking out. the plans i believe are all available at woodmagazine.com/plans also.

I just rip 2x4's into 2x2's, and use those to make a stand. with 1/2" ply on top, the can easily support about 200 lbs.

Hard to argue with Thom & Pappys pictures, Great Stuff.
As has been said, there are plans in magazines and on the web for about anything you want.
Just last night I was at the Woodsmith Store and ordered a 6" Avenger dado set, since they are currently out of stock.
Can never get past the Library while there and brought home a book.
" Building Workstations" by Danny Priloux, there are plans instructions and measured drawings and parts lists for 12 shop cabinet projects. I would reccomend it to anyone who wanted to know how to start. It is not cheap at $24.95 retail, but 12 projects at just over $2.00 per. is really pretty cheap plans?
This is the second book by Danny I have bought(I would buy more when I find them), and he makes what seems complicated, very easy and simple enough any one could follow.

Jim-Iowa, I second you suggestion for the book by Dayy Priloux. I was luky enough to find a copy for less than $5.00 in a discount book store. There are some awesome ideas in the book.
