Adapter from 4" all the way down to 1-1/4"?

I need to find adapters that can reduce my 4" dust collector hose down to 1-1/4" (I think); to fit my dewalt miter saw, dewalt router and similar tools with small dust ports.

I would appreciate any advice on how or where I can find such adapters. I am thinking using a length of flexible home vacume cleaner hose in between.

    Thanks in advance.

Click the link and scroll about half way down. These are available lots of places...I just picked this site because I was there this morning and remembered seeing it.

After choking down to 1.25", you'll probably find you don't have enough air velocity in your 4" line to move the dust you catch.

On your CMS, try putting the opening of a 4" DC line close to (or slipped over) the 1.25" DC port. It'll catch all the dust shooting out of the port, plus more.

Likewise, you could slip a 2.25" or 2.5" hose over other dust ports, and loosely attach. Usually these tools have some airflow to eject dust -- you just need to pick it up. This size hose isn't too unwieldy, and won't choke your 4" line nearly so bad.

Just some thoughts -- sorry for not answering your question as asked.

      Regards,
      Tom

Thats what I do. I stick the shop vac hose into the 4" DC hose and plug that in or over. That way there isn't any extra resistance.

That's something that's easy to overlook in DC design. What you're looking for is air velocity and volume not vacuum pressure.

Rigid has a multi-sized adapter gizmo, P/N VT1407, which can be seen here:

The HD by me carries them with the other shop-vac accessories.
