    My dream shop is here!

A few years ago, LOML and I decided we needed a larger house due to kids. LOML found a house she wanted and guess what...it just happened to have a large air-conditioned 16' x 16' shop in the backyard wired for 20a & 220v. Jackpot!!! I moved into this shop with just a tiny stash of old hand-me-down tools. (Our old house, which was our first, had no room anywhere to set up shop. There are no basements in Memphis and we had no garage.)

It's been three years now and I've managed to turn it into a weekend warrior's dream shop complete with phone, fridge with beer, TV, etc. It's the perfect place to escape and build or fix something.

Much to my wife's dismay, this shop has spoiled me and a move to another house will require an immediate building of another shop before we even move in.

Bonus: our 2-car garage actually has two cars in it. Nothing else.

A tour in pictures if you're interested:

Really cool shop! I definitely can't show it to LOML, though. Yard tools in the shop? Out of the question!!!!

I've got the yard tools in the shop because I really don't need that extra room...yet. They'll move out to the garage someday, but for now, they're not causing any space problems and the empty garage has been wonderful. Besides, I don't know what I'd use that extra shop space for (has anyone ever said that before?). I already have all the necessary stationary tools and each fits nicely in the shop already. A sanding station maybe? A sharpening station? Any suggestions?

Nice set up! We just moved into a new house and I'm using the garage until I can build a separate shop in the back yard. I had a little shop at the old house and while the garage has more room, the power and lighting leave a lot to be desired.
for the record, moving the shop was worse than moving the house.

To true. What's even worse, is that there are other browsers that support a more standard Web Archive (iCab is one) which is really just a .gz, .Z or .zip (don't remember which) so even if your browser doesn't support direct reading of archives, you can always uncompress the archive and view it with any browser.

                        Let's try this again:

                        http://www.geocities.com/bbostick727/

This should work for everyone. Ignore the previous URL as that has seemed to crash.

Isn't that a miter guide sitting on BT next to SMT? I thought it was illegal?
I did not see a router table on those pictures. Did I miss it?
Seriously- very nice setup. I am envious about lumber hanging overhead. My basement is 6'2" tall.

The router table is on the bottom of the power tool shelf on the left. It's a top-of-the-line Craftsman router table from the '60s or '70s and is designed to be clamped to a workbench. Works great, but it is missing a few nice features compared to the fancy tables I see today. Hmmm...maybe that's what I need to build where the yard tool shelf is.

I knew I'd get some great ideas going if I posted my shop pics.
