    Stu's Dungeon

This isn't mine - I came across this on Woodnet a while back. I didn't post it until now since Stu's web site got hammered (a woodworkers version of the slashdot effect?) and ran out of bandwidth until recently.

I had a lot of fun reading it.

Unreal isn't it? I wonder what the original purpose of the area was for?

That is very interesting! I have scooped his site for about a week now. It shows that anyone who really wants to can make enough room to work. On the question of how he gets finished work out.
If you page through his site and see how he got that massive Jointer down in that hole piece by piece, you will get it.
The stairs come out of the hole and he uses an electric hoist.

That looks as if it might have been built as a water storage location for homes without municipal service. Thay may not be it but I sure bet it's loud down there whwn that planer starts running.

I was thinking about the noise angle, too.

He probably doesn't have to worry much about someone ripping off his tools, though.
