Stupid expensive Bessey miter clamp not big enough

I was making a 2 inch wide frame and found my fancy, otherwise great ($30 ea) Bessey WS-3 miter clamps would not open wide enough to accept this frame. I had to bring out my custom miter clamps.

Bessey claims 2 inch capacity But that's if you clamp one wide and one small piece (asymmetric) but if the pieces are the same width then the limit is like 1-3/16"

It is also a bit easier with mine to get the frame all coplanar on a flat worksurface and to apply pressure in the direction of the joint.
