Frustum of a pyramid = Frustration

This is the only place I can safely ask this.... Has anyone ever tried to figure out a way to fold a single piece of sheet metal into a rectangular pyramid with an open rectangular but smaller top? brain hurts so I gave up for the night.

Give me the dimensions and I'll make a bend pattern for you. I cheat, Solidworks will do it for me.

Does this pattern look similar to yours?

You should be able to draw it out using these dimensions. The software makes some assumptions and adjustments (such as the radius of the bends) but if you round to the nearest fraction should get the right shape.

I added a 1" tab so you can screw/rivet/glue/etc it together.

I probably forgot a dimension or two. When I send parts out to be formed the flat pattern is only in overall size dimensions because a cnc laser cuts the parts, I don't make shop drawings for them.

If you are interested you can download eDrawings and I'll email you the model file. You can view it in 3d and take measurements directly from the model.

You did a very nice job on that.

                So, what is it for?

I had a handibox on the wall for a 3 way light switch near one of the garage entrances - swapped it out for a 4 square deep box and ran my extra wiring inside the same conduit- glad I chose 3/4" emt when I originally did that! I put in a 12 hour (IIRC) mechanical timer switch. It's meant for 240v circuits so it cuts out both hot leads.
