    Spanish Cedar

Does anyone have any experience with this wood?

A friend told me that he has been using in some rehab millwork projects. I'm thinking of using it in my boat project for a couple of different areas. It's supposedly easy to work with and rot resistant.

Does it machine well? Stable? How does it take stain?

I've only used it for humidors and cigar boxes. It's actually in the Mahogany family, not a Cedar. It's not that strong of a wood, and machines easily, but can get a rough feeling when machined. I haven't stained it or applied any finishes, so no help there.
