Where to find 1/2" tee nuts?

I'm building my first workbench (lol it should have been the first thing I built) and in it it calls for 1/2" tee nuts to fit a 1/2"x10" eye bolt (it will be attached to the bottom of a leveling block). I cannot find a place that carries this large of a tee nut, well I found 1 but for 4 nuts they want $30 (including shipping)!

I've tried all the normal places, HD, lowes, mcfeelys, rockler, woodcraft, and amazon. None have it and to make things more difficult a lot of them label the nut by barrel length and not barrel width.

I even tried the bt3central sponsored link t-nuts.com and they don't carry any tee nuts for wood.

    Mcmaster.com has a pack of 20 for $12.

If you live close to one of their distribution facilities you can do a will-call to save on shipping.

If you have to have them shipped, it would probably add $5 to $6.

You can call them for shipping quotes.

They have what I need, thanks! I don't like that the shipping info isn't in the site.

The shipping is very reasonable with them. They are geared towards providing the industry and businesses so they don't try to gouge on s&h. That's not to say that they are not open to the public, they do sell to consumers. If you call they will be happy to give you a shipping quote over the phone. This is exactly what I did when I found that they had t-track at a great price. I would buy from them again.

What about counter-boring a large hole to accept a washer and 1/2" nut then J-B Weld it in.... or smaller dia counter-bore for a 1/2" square nut... chisel out the corners for the square nut and J-B Weld it in. Might be quicker and cheaper than hunting down 1/2" T-nuts.

I thought about that but it was going to be my last resort.
