    Nail gun upgrade

So, I was recently building some storage shelves for our ever-growing toy collection (will post about it later). But, I was having trouble with the nails "blowing out" of the shelving from not having the brad nailer completly horazontal in order to drive the nail completly perpendicular into the board.

I came up with a really easy solution I wanted to pass along. I cut a piece of scrap wood to match the length of nailer head. I taped this shoe to the end of the nail gun with electrical tape. It doesn't affect the opporation of the gun at all, and I'm more confident that I won't miss what I'm aiming at.

Great idea Shep. Simple, it works, and something we are all bound to have in the shop-unless you burn your scraps as you go.

I love the "simple fixes". Many times I'll see something like that in a mag, and wonder "Why didn't I think of that".

Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

Good thinking, now the manufacturers should catch on and incorporate a rubber heel on a hinge to swing out of the way when you need to angle one in.
