    That is a pretty cool idea. Seems like a lot easier than a dowel plate.

      Neat - and looking at this linked web-page, looks a bit like the work our old friend Nikki used to do! (Can't read - is it japanese?)

          Pretty neat. Hope I can keep that in my memory bank.

          Did you see how he held the larger piece in the drill? Looks like a spade bit into a slot, then a hose clamp draws it tight.

              I assume this is for all those times when you REALLY need a dowel at 2 a.m. and HD isn't open?

              I know, I know, sometimes you need a specific diameter dowel, and of a species other than oak or poplar...

                This one makes a larger diameter dowel with a band saw.

                  I bought a set of these from Lee Valley. It takes a little set up but they work well.
