It's that time of year again. Time to retreat into the woods to the family cabin and pick a project for myself. Last year I completed the 2nd floor rail for the loft.
This year I'd like to make a bunk beds setup for the kids with a couch / futon sort of base. Half of the cabin is wide open with no ceiling so I have the space. The kids will likely fight over who gets the top bunk but again, they're old enough so height isn't a problem. I'm thinking couch/futon on the bottom and bunks over it.
Perhaps you've seen some plans or built something similar. Keep in mind I have to purchase materials there so nothing fancy. I'll only have pretty basic tools like skill saw, router and drill. I do bring a generator with me so I have some power. Simple is better.
While not working on projects, we go sailing, fishing or just hang at the beach. Plenty of sites to see.
