    What glue for Zebrawood?

I am making a serving tray with compound beveled sides using Zebra wood. I am finding that Titebond doesn't work really well with this material. I first made the parts to fit very nicely, and managed to clamp it all together.......then I dropped it accidentally and it came apart completely! I really didn't want to use mechanical fasteners. Have any of you had any experience with this?

I,ve used zebrawood for many products and Titebond III on all of them without problems. Zebraawood is not oily but is porous and may need more glue than you are used to using. How thick are the edges being joined?

It is about 7/8" thick. The corners mate in a 7/8" X 1/2" rabbet, which seemed to be plenty of glued surface. I have since reglued the project and I used some acceptable looking pocket screws (on the surface) to reinforce the corners. This tray is from Tommy McDonald's show in early May.

I've done a bunch of stuff with Zebra wood, Using Tightbond II and III, and never had a problem.
I wonder if ,in your case, Hide glue would do the trick.

Gazelle-hide glue is probably your best bet.
