He is refinishing some doors. They were painted,3 coats, under that polyurethane and under that a red stain. He striped them down to the bare wood. My first guess is the poly was not poly but varnish. The problem is that he has primed with Kilz and painted with Kilz premium paint and the red keeps bleeding through. He even tried a coat of poly before the primer and paint and still it bleeds through.
Question: What will stop the bleed through? Would varnish do it?
