    finish on a table?

I have put coat of boiled linseed oil on tables that I had made before, but this one is going to be used as a small dining table and I am not sure what to use in order for it to hold up against spills or other things it might encounter. Please help.

A few years I refinished our maple dining room table top: a shellac wash coat, some gel stain, followed by three coats of wipe-on polyurethane. It is holding up great!

Apply wiping version of oil base polyurethane or oil base interior varnish.

Yes it would work. Use boiled linseed oil, and give it time to cure.
