    Alowood

Has anyone worked with this stuff?
They had some good looking boards at Rockler.

    Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks.

I've turned a couple of pens with it. Works well on a lathe, but I just prefer a natural wood over dyed, injected, cooked or otherwise engineered products. No overwhelming reason; just my personal preference.

Have you tried Plexiglas, or Corian (or any solid surface brands)?

Have done quite a few things in Corian. It's OK, but doesn't match the beauty of real wood, IMO. It's also tough to find Corian in thicknesses needed for anything but the slimmest of pens. Beyond that, you usually have to go with lams.
