    Slab Bench

I am making a slab bench with some Walnut slabs I have had for about 2 years. My question is about the bark on the slabs. Should I remove this bark, or is there a way to keep it and somehow seal it. The bark is pretty fuzzy, not solid like I would have guessed.

This will be an outdoor bench, but will be under a roofline, so it will get minimal moisture.
    Thanks.

If you like the look of the bark, leave it. You could use Penofin Premium Red Label.

        Penofin

I see from their web site that the clear has no uv protection. I am about to do a deck also. I am doing the deck in cedar and I hate stain. Which Penofin would you recommend for a cedar deck that would give UV protection but almost no color.

        Thanks.

This one seems to be clear and has UV protection -

          http://www.thehardwarecity.com/getPr...ml?sku=6086979

          or am I missing something?

Funny how their page is minimal on information. eg, they list two with 'cedar' in the name, but you have to read oh-so carefully to infer that one seems to be for western Red cedar...

And incredibly, they seem to claim that it needs just one coat...! If true that would be sooo good!
(another member had recommended this to me before, I have yet to buy it).

The link radhak posted is the Red Label, it's clear, and 99% UV protection.

Thanks guys. I didn't see that on the Penofin Web site. That is perfect.
