    Waterproof finish

I have an oak frame around my bathroom's jacuzzi. At the area near the faucets, years of water drips had damaged the finish. I sanded it down and refinished with a few coats of varathane. Only a couple months later, it looks worse than ever.

What's a good waterproof clear finish to use in such a spot, that frequently has a few standing water drops?

I finished the top on a bar I did over a year ago with this stuff.

Even with the abuse of alcohol spills, coasters not mbeing used, etc., it still shows no signs of wear.

After you remove the old finish you have to let the wood dry thoroughly. Adding heat or a de-humidifier will help speed the process. You might ask a boat refinisher how they insure the wood is dry before they apply a new finish.

I would sand and prep for a new finish and use Parks Pro Finisher, available at HD. It can be catalyzed and is recommended for flooring, also pretty darn good for a furniture finish. IMO, equal to if not better than OB poly, or NC lacquer for durability.

It's water based, quick dry, and no stink.
