    Mike's First Law of Woodworking

Everytime I finally come close to competence in a skill area, it makes me realize how far I have to go in another.

For example, my skills at spray finishing have advanced to the point that now I can see just how much I suck at surface prep and grain filling. I can now lay down nice mirror shinny surfaces that show EXACTLY where I didn't sand off that little bit of residual planer snipe or that spot where I put the grain filler on a bit too thick, or that spot on ash where the grain still pops through a little bit.
