    What Size ?

I have my miter slot in place on the BT3 and am ready to make the panel sled. What is a good all around size for the sled? I saw a thread awhile back where the person wished he had made a larger one. I would like it to be as large as possible but still manageable. Any suggestions ?
I have watched Norm on u tube and see the process.

    Thanks in advance.Glenn

    Mine is approx 24" sq.

There is a thread on it and othe sled issues here.

Size is more of an issue on a X-cut sled as it has fences at both ends whereas a panel sled only has a simple fence on the leading edge.

Some folks have x-cut sleds in multiple sizes but do remember that you will need appropriate size tables and/or outfeed to support really large ones. Mine is 31" x 23" (19" between the fences) and deals with 90% of everything I need. To be honest I think I sized it based on a piece of 1/2" ply I had on hand when I built it.
