    kitchen chairs

Anyone have information on where to buy the parts to build wooden kitchen chairs?
I can find all kinds of places that have the components to make a table but not chairs.
    TIA

$321 for a single chair and I'd still have to assemble it?
      I don't think so.

Exactly what parts are you looking for? Or are you thinking of more of a complete kit?

          Well, either one actually.
I can handle making the spindles but the chair seat and back are the more difficult pieces. Or, ideally, having a complete set in pieces as a kit would be great.

I have come to the conclusion that there just aren't any economical ways about this. I found some other sites that had partially assembled kits but those too were way too expensive compared to buying them from the local furniture store.

I am going to check some of the outlet stores and discount furniture places in my area and see if I can find a nice set of 4 for a reasonable price.
The sad part is thet the ones I have looked at so far are imported. I suppose US industries cannot compete.

You might also look for some unfinished or 'nude' furniture places. I didn't see any from Akron on this list, but there might be something closeby. http://www.buyunfinishedfurniture.co...elist.htm#Ohio

Salty, Try thrift shops and good will stores. I've seen some wonderful chairs in these places all the time. As a matter of fact, I have two wing back chairs from good will that we picked up for a song and re-upholstered them...
We also picked up three Cain backed chairs that blended well with our dining room set
              that we refinished and reupholstered.
I see wonderful wood chairs all the time is good will, that just need some tender love and care, some re-gluing refinishing. Some with an easy to reupholster slip seat and some with a wood seat. All you need is the vision to see a chairs potential.
I've provided three pic's. One after we re-glued it, and one after we added wood to the bottom of the seat to make it thicker so that it didn't look like a dining chair, and one after we reupholstered it. This chair was all broken down and wobbly.
It was by the back door, with one foot on the banana peel, and one foot in the dumpster. It was a ten dollar chair waiting for me to bring it home.
I bet it was an old dining chair. As soon as I saw the lyre on the back, I had to have it.

Go shopping at good will or the thrifts. Also check Craigs list in your area. They have fantastic bargains.
