A freind of ours asked me to repair a broken dovetailed drawer slide.A piece about 4" long broke off of on side and the other side is split but still attached.He tried to repair with gorilla glue but I dont think he clamped it and it didn't stick.So I am thinking I have 2 options either remove the gorilla and use pva or use epoxy and leave the gorilla on.I am leaning toward the second because the pieces fit really tight and I dont want to mess the fit up trying to remove the dried glue.Has anyone had any luck removing dried poly glue with a heat gun or chemicals? I think that will be my only hope to use pva glue.

I used epoxy and brads to reattach the pieces I was able to get 2 small screws in the piece that broke off completly.Everything seems to be good and solid.Ill cross my fingers and hope itll stay that way.It will be a major pita to try to make a different type of repair with new wood.I think therefore I .....awwww where is that remote. -
That's probably the approach I would have taken, something with epoxy, or just replace the runner all together. I suppose you are saying getting the runner out would be a major PITA?Keith Z. Leonard

The runner is glued to drawer bottoms front and back.I would destroy the drawer trying to get it out.The only way I could come close is to route the broke section down and make a new piece to fit on top of this.I think therefore I .....awwww where is that remote.Comment
